New York City is just full of Gossip Girl filming locations. Unlike a lot of series that are set in NYC but filmed in LA, Gossip Girl was actually filmed in the city, so the list of locations they used is really long!
This post is a list of the most iconic ones. Perfect for if this is your first time in New York or if you don’t have too much time to spare!

5 Iconic Gossip Girl Locations in New York City to Visit
1. Grand Central Terminal – 89 East 42nd Street
Grand Central is the place where Gossip Girl started. Any Gossip Girl fan will know the reference: “Someone saw Serena getting off the train at Grand Central.”
Many people come to Grand Central to pose on the steps where Serena was first seen.
This really should be on everyone’s list of NYC places to visit, even if you’re not a Gossip Girl fan; you’ll enjoy it.

2. The Met Steps – 1000 5th Avenue
Located right outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is maybe the most iconic of all the Gossip Girl filming locations.
Blair and the Constance Girls are often seen sitting on the steps of this museum to eat their frozen yoghurt, amongst other things.
Again, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most beautiful buildings in New York City and a must-see for all first-time visitors.

3. Constance Billard School – 1220 5th Avenue
The iconic building used to film the scenes of Constance Billard school isn’t actually a real school, but you can visit the location where it was filmed.
This building is actually called The Museum of the City of New York and is extremely pretty, on the inside and outside. This location is pretty close to The Met steps, so it’s totally believable that the girls would have hung out there!
There are plenty of angles here if you’re looking to take Gossip Girl-inspired Instagram photos.

4. The Bethesda Terrace and Fountain – Central Park
This is my favourite place in all of New York and is definitely a must-see for everyone who visits New York City.
Initially, this location featured in Season 1, Episode 3 for the Serena and Blair makeup scene. Fun fact: the bench they sit on isn’t actually there; it was added for filming purposes.
You see the Terrace and Fountain featured again at the end of the show for the iconic scene of Chuck and Blair’s wedding in Season 6, Episode 10.

5. The Empire State Building – 20 West 34th Street
I’m not sure any list of iconic places in New York would be complete without including The Empire State Building. This beauty is shown in the finale of Gossip Girl’s 3rd season (episode 22).
Chuck waits here for Blair to see if she will accept his proposal.

Thank you for reading this list of iconic Gossip Girl filming locations to see in New York. I hope you have the best time in NYC.
