JOOLZ AER+ REVIEW & HOW TO GET A DISCOUNT

Joolz Aer+ Review

UNSURE IF IT IS WORTH THE MONEY? READ MY JOOLZ AER+ STROLLER REVIEW

We’ve been using the Joolz Aer+ for almost 9 months now. Both, while we’ve been travelling and in the city as an alternative to our UppaBaby Vista (which I also highly recommend). We have been so pleased with this stroller (pushchair) and I get asked so many questions about it. So here is my full Joolz Aer+ review.

We purchased the stroller and the footboard for our baby and toddler so this review will cover both.

IS THIS STROLLER RIGHT FOR YOU?

Firstly, this type of travel stroller is expensive, so consider if it’s worth the expense for your family. For us, we travel a lot and have absolutely got our money’s worth out of it. If you’re looking for something good quality, durable and comfortable. This will certainly tick those boxes.

Previously, when we travelled, we had two strollers returned from the plane with damaged wheels. Sometimes insurance will cover the damage but this doesn’t help you when you’re exploring your destination and the wheel keeps falling off!

For this reason, it was essential for us that it could fit in the overhead storage on the plane. There are some cheaper alternatives available on Amazon however when checking the weight limit, they’re only really suitable for smaller children. At the time of purchase, we had a 4-month-old and a 3-year-old and we wanted them both to be able to use it. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. We had a couple of cheaper options before this one and I wish I just got this at the start!

This stroller was also very useful if you use public transport a lot. When we visited England, we could fold and store it easily on the trains and London busses.

FULL JOOLZ AER+ REVIEW

Here is a full pros and cons list:
PROS:
– It’s very lightweight and glides along easily when you push it. Even if you only use one hand.
– It has a one-handed fold/ unfold design which is very easy after a couple of practices.
– The seat is sturdy and comfortable, both my 3.5-year-old and my 4-month-old rode in it comfortably. (It does say suitable for age 6m+ but my baby was very happy in it, so use your judgement.)
– The storage basket is small compared to the Vista but a good size compared to similar fold-up strollers. It’s also easy to access.
– It can fully recline for nap time or be at an angle.
– Fits in the plane overhead storage for travel. We’ve used it on many flights now and never had a problem!
– A handy storage bag is included. The bag is perfect to take on the plane with.
– It also comes with a 10-year transferable guarantee. Meaning if you hand down or sell after 4 years, the new owner will get the remaining 6 years of the guarantee!
– There is an option to add a kickboard. I’ll talk more about the board later.
-There is also an option to buy a bassinet. Although I didnt try this personally.
– The fabric is water-resistant and is made from recycled materials.
– It comes in a variety of colour options so there should be something to suit everyone.

CONS:
– It was quite expensive. At $449 for the stroller and $120 for the kickboard, it is a big expense. Read on as I have a tip to make it a little more affordable!
– You have to purchase the rain cover and footrest separately. I didn’t buy either of these. The footrest hasn’t been needed and I use the rain cover from our other pushchair.
– As a stroller for one child. I can’t fault it. In full honesty, the kickboard design does let this stroller down slightly, I’ll review it in more detail below.

JOOLZ AER+ KICKBOARD REVIEW

KICKBOARD CONS:
– It sticks out quite far so you have to walk to the side (which is a similar problem on any stroller).
– Having the board attached makes it difficult to get to the break.
– You can’t fold the board up when it’s not in use as it falls down which is a bit annoying.

KICKBOARD PROS:
– As it’s so lightweight, you can still push it easily, even with one hand on flat surfaces.
– The board has a seat which my older one loves and was a lifesaver when he was getting tired.
– It’s very easy to remove and attach the board
– If you take off the seat, the stroller can be folded with the board still attached. It still fits in the overhead storage this way.

HOW TO GET A DISCOUNT

Unfortunately, this tip will only work if you purchase in the USA. This stroller rarely goes on sale. They’re also usually excluded from promotional offers.

It is possible to get the Joolz Aer at a discount (it’s the older model to the Aer+) It is very similar but slightly heavier. This would be a great option if you’re unsure how much use you’ll get out of it.

Luckily, I have a tip for you. If you purchase through Bloomingdales, sign up for their loyalty program. It’s FREE to sign up and you earn pints every time you shop. From the purchase of our Aer+, I got enough points for a $100 Bloomingdales gift card, which you can spend on anything at Bloomingdales!

This tip actually works on any items you buy from Bloomingdales!
