Bath is one of England’s most beautiful cities, with elegant Georgian architecture, historic landmarks and charming streets that make wonderful backdrops for photographs. Below is my list of Bath’s most picturesque locations. These are perfect photo spots, whether you’re shooting Instagram content or just looking to capture memories of Bath.
Outside The Roman Baths
The Roman Baths are one of Bath’s most famous landmarks and a beautiful spot for photography. Although the Baths were closed when we visited, we were still able to appreciate the impressive columns and the warm colour of the historic stonework from outside.
The exterior makes a lovely photo opportunity, even if you don’t have time to visit the Baths themselves.

The Pulteney Bridge
Pulteney Bridge is one of Bath’s most recognisable landmarks. This beautiful Georgian bridge is lined with shops on both sides, giving it a distinctive character and making it a lovely spot for photographs. It’s well worth stopping here to capture the architecture and the views along the River Avon.

The Corner of York Street and Bath Abbey
Bath Abbey and York Street are beautiful photo spots individually, but I particularly loved the view of them together. The arch on York Street perfectly frames the Abbey in the background. There are plenty of opportunities for photographs in this area, from the impressive Abbey to the surrounding historic streets.
If you’re hoping to capture the architecture without too many people in your shots, I’d recommend visiting early in the morning. We took this photo at around 7 am; having a toddler who gets us up early occasionally has its advantages!

The Circus
The Circus is a striking crescent-shaped road of grand Georgian townhouses, making it one of Bath’s most distinctive architectural landmarks. The curved buildings and elegant stone façades create a beautiful backdrop for photographs, whether you capture the whole circle or focus on the details of the architecture.

Camden Crescent
Camden Crescent is a slightly less known photo spot. It’s a pretty residential street in Bath, best known for its elegant Georgian houses. If you’re visiting in spring, it’s particularly worth seeking out the house covered in beautiful wisteria shown below.
Wisteria typically flowers in spring, although the exact timing varies from year to year. We had to walk up a bit of a hill to reach this spot, but it was well worth the effort!

Green Street
Green Street is a charming little street with a row of shops and views towards St Michael’s Church. It’s a lovely place to capture a quieter side of Bath, with historic architecture and plenty of character. The church makes a pretty backdrop for photographs along the street.

The Royal Crescent
The Royal Crescent is another one of Bath’s most famous landmarks. It is a must-see for anyone visiting Bath, and it also happens to be very picturesque. The sweeping curve of grand townhouses overlooks a broad green, creating an impressive view.
I don’t think my photo quite does it justice! It’s one of those places that’s even more striking in person, so be sure to stop by with your camera when exploring Bath.

The Paragon
There is no shortage of pretty streets in Bath, and the Paragon is another striking example. It’s lined with elegant townhouses along a gentle curve. Although it may be less well known than the Royal Crescent or The Circus, it’s still worth exploring if you enjoy photographing historic architecture.
It can also offer a quieter alternative to some of Bath’s busier landmarks, making it a lovely addition to a photography walk around the city.

- Consider the season: If you’d love to photograph the wisteria at Camden Crescent, spring is the best time to look out for it.
- Allow time to wander: Some of Bath’s prettiest views are found while exploring the streets between the main landmarks, so don’t feel you need to stick to a strict route.
