Tucked away on Pier 57 is one of the most underrated views in New York. I don’t know why hardly anyone talks about it.

Offering skyline views, space for kids to run around, and a peaceful little escape from the chaos of Manhattan.

The best part? It’s completely FREE 🙌 and surprisingly family-friendly, making it perfect if you’re exploring the city with little ones and need a breather.

One thing I have learned from travelling with kids

One thing I have learned from travelling with kids is that not everything that works for one family will work for another.

With kids, it’s important to slow down, enjoy the little moments and prioritise what will work for your family.

When we visited California, our kids were young (aged 3 years and 4 months). Our 3-year-old had zero interest in Disney, but he loved LEGO. Both were pretty expensive activities, so we prioritized the one we thought was best for us.

Of course, I’m sure we would have enjoyed Disney as well (and we have since been to, and loved Disneyland Paris), but I stand by this decision! We had the best couple of days at LEGOLAND California (one in the theme park and one in the water park).

We still have a lot of California to explore, so I’m sure we will go back and enjoy Disney at some point!

👋 Back with my monthly series (just a little late this month!) Each month I share a list of 4 things to do in London that month. 3 budget-friendly options and one treat that kids and parents will all love. For April, I’ve mixed indoor and outdoor activities as we are (finally) coming into Spring!

1. Greenwich Park - I adore the pretty pink cherry blossoms, and my children love Greenwich Park. Hike to the top of the park for epic views, a cherry blossom walk and the deer trail. Or explore the bottom of the park, kids will love the Cove playground! All of this is completely free.

2. Horniman Museum & Gardens - beautiful spring gardens with epic views that the whole family will love to explore. Plus, a cute farm trail for kids. Inside the museum, you’ll find hands-on galleries that are perfect for children. This is all free, but you have the option to pay for the aquarium, butterfly house and special exhibits if you wish.

3. Astronomers Takeover & the National Maritime Museum [PR Invite] - London’s newest exhibition, all about space. The exhibition is £8, and planetarium shows are an additional £8, but combine this with the rest of the free museum, and you’ll have a pretty affordable day out!

4. The Garden at 120 - a peaceful garden with amazing views of London. Kids and parents will love to explore here, especially with the spring flowers! Free and no need ot book in advance.
