Where Is Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt?

Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt is a luxury, five-star campsite in Northern France, just a few minutes’ drive from the charming medieval town of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. This campsite is beautifully maintained and perfectly located for families travelling from the UK, as it’s only around an hour and a half drive from Calais.

NOTE: We took the ferry from Dover to Calais. Living in London, we don’t own a car, so we hire one when we need to. Many car rental companies don’t allow you to take their cars to France (as a result of Brexit), so we had to collect it from Gatwick rather than London, and it cost more than we would usually pay. Compare rental car prices prior to booking your ferry or accommodation!

Accommodation Options at Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt

One of the things that makes Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt stand out is the variety of accommodation available. It hosts 77 camping pitches and 113 rental units. So, whether you’re looking for the full camping experience or prefer something a little more comfortable, there’s an option here for you. Guests can choose from spacious grassy pitches for tents and caravans, stylish glamping tents, or fully equipped mobile homes that feel more like cosy holiday cottages.

We stayed in one of the site’s premium mobile homes, called Cottage Santorin. These homes are compact but well-designed to offer all the comforts of home, including a private deck, a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of space for the kids to play. Everything felt clean, modern and was perfect for our week’s stay. This was our first experience staying on a campsite, and Yelloh! made 5-star camping in France feel like such a treat.

The only thing that let it down slightly was that you had to make your own beds. Of course, this isn’t the worst thing ever, but who really wants to arrive and have to do chores!

Whatever you choose, the accommodation at Domaine de Drancourt makes it easy to unwind, spend time outdoors, and enjoy the relaxed pace of French campsite life.

Facilities at This 5-Star Yelloh! Village Campsite

Swimming Pools

There are three swimming pools on the Yelloh Domaine de Drancourt site, plus two water slides.

The main pool is a large, heated pool with a lazy river and a jacuzzi area. Then, there are two children’s pools. The first children’s pool is outside, and although the website says it is heated, it was rather cold. It did have a fun water feature with a slide, though!

The second children’s pool is indoors. There is a shallow pool with a slide and water feature; it’s perfect for young children and toddlers. They also have a larger pool with a jacuzzi area that older kids can swim in.

Note: There is no adult-only pool or traditional swimming pool with lanes.

Bouncy Castle

Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt has an all-day bouncy castle, and it is huge. For me, this is the detail that makes Yelloh! a five star camping experience. My kids spent so long playing on there.

The bouncy castle is free to use, but note: parents are responsible for watching their own children. There is no member of staff

Mini Golf

The Domaine de Drancourt site also has a mini golf area. You can borrow clubs and balls free of charge. I didn’t personally visit the golf site; however, my husband told me that, although it looks really cool, it isn’t very easy to play on due to the bumpy surface.

Sports Courts

The Yelloh! Village Domain de Drancourt campsite is equipped with tennis, football and multisports courts. You can book the courts at reception and also borrow rackets free of charge. These facilities are also part of what makes staying at Yelloh! Village a luxury experience.

Restaurant

The site has its own restaurant, bar and snack bar. You can also order fresh bread and pastries for the morning.

There is also a small store on site, which only has basics and is quite overpriced. There is a Lidl a 5-minute drive away, which we used most of the time.

Playground

The site has a large playground area near the pools. It is sandy with lots of play equipment, aimed at kids up to age 12.

This area was well maintained and we saw staff coming to rake the sand and remove any rocks or trash. These details are what set this apart as a luxury campsite.

It was really handy having this on-site, and my children really enjoyed playing here.

Laundry

The rental units don’t have laundry facilities, but there is a laundry room in the Yelloh! Village campsite for guests to use.

Go-Karts & Pedal Kart Rentals

You have the option to rent go-karts or larger pedal karts. Children (and Dads) will love this activity.

These are charged at €5 for a half-hour rental.

Waste Disposal

This is a random thing to mention, but the waste disposal system let the Domaine de Drancourt site down slightly.

There seemed to be only one place to drop your general rubbish and recycling, which was by the main entrance. As it’s a large campsite, this could be very far away from your pitch, depending on your location. A lot of people were driving to the bin area, which is quite annoying and not environmentally friendly.

Is There a Kid’s Club at Yelloh! Village Domaine de Drancourt?

Yes! There Yelloh! Village offers a kids club all year round for children aged 5 and above. In the low season, it just runs 5 days a week, 2 hours per day. While in high season, it’s Sunday to Friday, from 10 am to 12 pm and then again from 3 pm to 5 pm.

As 3 of the 4 children in our group were under 5, we didnt use the kids club, but I believe it is included in your booking cost.

They also run other kids’ entertainment, such as the evening disco. Unfortunately, my kids didn’t love the disco as it was outside on the lawn. I think they were expecting proper disco lights!

Things To Do Near Domaine de Drancourt

The Yelloh! Village at Domaine de Drancourt isn’t within walking distance of any towns or villages, there are quite a few places that are a short drive away.

We took two day trips from Domaine de Drancourt, the first to Saint Valery sur Somme, which is the closest location and another to a beach town called Le Tréport.

Both of these are lovely towns to explore and good options if you want to get out of the campsite for a day!

Our Honest Review of Yelloh! Village at Domaine de Drancourt

We visited Yelloh! at Domaine de Drancourt as a holiday with extended family. For us, this isn’t the typical holiday style we do; camping has never been something that appealed to me, so I wasn’t expecting too much from this trip. However, I’m pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised.

The gorgeous grounds, grand chateau and restaurant area give this campsite a luxury feel. The facilities are great, especially for families. My children especially enjoyed the pools and water slides. Having a heated, indoor pool was perfect for my young children, as even though it was August, the weather wasn’t always brilliant.

The extra amenities, such as the bouncy castle and playground, really set this campsite apart.

The mobile homes are a little on the small side, but are comfortable and well-designed with everything you need. We had a home with a porch, and I would really recommend this as it gave a bit of extra room, ideal for alfresco dining and allowing the children to play safely.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Yelloh!
