I’ve recently become focused on switching to more sustainable household products. This has been a gradual journey for our family, but finding an eco-friendly toilet paper was one of the easiest swaps we made. In this honest Who Gives A Crap review, I’ll share what it’s like to use as a family, how it compares to other options, and whether I think it’s worth the cost.
I’d heard a lot about Who Gives A Crap and loved their mission: plastic-free packaging, carbon-neutral shipping, and 50% of profits donated to clean water charities. But, I was really keen to discover firstly, if it was more expensive than regular toilet paper brands and secondly, if this recycled toilet paper is actually any good? I’ll be sharing everything I know below.

My Honest Who Gives a Crap Review
Firstly, I would like to say that I purchased my Who Gives a Crap Subscription with my own money, and this post is not sponsored by Who Gives a Crap toilet paper in any way, and I am not obliged to give a good review!
I chose to buy the Who Gives a Crap bamboo toilet paper, which is slightly more expensive than their standard recycled toilet paper, but it is also supposedly softer, and this was important to me!

Who Gives a Crap Price Comparison to Other Leading Brands
When switching to sustainable or environmentally friendly products, I always want to check that the price is in line with the products I currently use. Being eco-friendly is important to me, but I’m not keen to dramatically increase my monthly household spend (unless I’m getting a superior product!) This is a tedious task, but I’ve done the work for you below!
I’ve compared the cost per sheet of Who Gives a Craps top two products, Cheeky Panda, which is another leading Bamboo toilet paper provider, a best-selling premium brand and a supermarket’s own product.

Cost per sheet rounded to 0.4 decimal place. Prices correct at time of publishing at RRP and dont take into account offers or promotions. Who Gives a Crap and Cheeky Panda both offer a discount on your first order if you subscribe.
When I initially purchased Who Gives a Crap, Cheeky Panda only had the option to buy 24 rolls. This initially looked like a much cheaper option; however, as they were only 200 sheets per roll, it actually wasn’t as good a value, so dont fall for this trick!
So, if you’re willing to buy in bulk, Who Gives a Crap recycled toilet paper is actually very similar in price to Tesco’s own product! The Who Gives a Crap bamboo toilet roll works out at slightly more, but it is a high-quality product. I will talk more about the quality below!
Who Gives a Crap Review: Is it Good Quality?
I purchased the Who Gives a Crap Bamboo toilet paper and am so pleased with the quality! This bamboo toilet paper is different from the recycled toilet paper. The bamboo is not recycled, but it is a sustainable source, as bamboo is classed as a grass rather than a tree and therefore grows quickly. Who Gives a Crap advises on its website that this is the closest to supermarket toilet tissue.

Quick Who Gives a Crap Review: Pros and Cons
Pros of Who Gives a Crap Toilet Paper:
- The Bamboo Paper is of better quality (in my opinion) than regular toilet paper
- If bought in bulk, the price is competitive
- It’s sustainable for our planet
- If you buy the recycled paper, it’s made from sustainable and recycled materials
- 50% of profits are donated to charity
- You get free carbon-neutral shipping on orders over £20
- Further discount on the prices above if you subscribe
Cons of Who Gives a Crap Toilet Paper:
- You have to buy in bulk to get the best price, and finding places to store 48 toilet rolls can be a challenge
- You get a discount to subscribe; however, they send quite a few marketing emails, and I missed the email telling me my next order was due to be sent. I ended up getting it much sooner than needed and having to store even more rolls!
- The toilet rolls come individually wrapped. It is in paper and supposedly to be more hygienic and prevent moisture from getting to the rolls, but I wonder if there is a more environmentally friendly way.
