We wanted to prepare my kids for our move from NYC to London. One of the best ways to do this is through reading. If you’re taking a trip to London soon and want to help your kids fully enjoy it, here’s my list and reviews of the best London books for little kids.

For reference, our boys have just turned 1 and 4.
LONDON BOOKS FOR BABIES/ TODDLERS
BUSY LONDON by MARION BILLET – I’m starting here because they both LOVE this one. It has push-and-pull sliders and a The London Eye to turn. Great for teaching fine motor skills and about London at the same time.
LONDON SOUNDS by SAM TAPLIN – another that they both enjoy. It mentions some key spots you’ll want to visit and has interactive buttons that make the sounds of London, such as The Buckingham Place Changing of the Guards.
LONDON BOOKS FOR KIDS
These books probably aren’t suitable for a baby but my 4 year old loves them!
LONELY PLANET – POP-UP LONDON – The pop-up pages are really cool and we learnt a lot of interesting things from this book. I purchased this one before we moved and I think it was the one that made him most excited!
A WALK IN LONDON – SALVATORE RUBBINO – I got this in a charity shop shortly after we moved to London and it was the best £1 I have spent in a long time! I almost didn’t buy it because I thought it might be too old for Freddie but he’s sat and read it with me so many times! It has so many interesting facts and we have all learnt a lot from it.
